Senator the Hon. Arnold J. Nicholson, QC (centre), Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade, and His Excellency Ralph Thomas (left), Ambassador to the United States of America and Permanent Representative of Jamaica to the Organisation of American States (OAS) present a cheque for US$4000 to Christine Staple Ebanks (right), Founder and President of the Nathan Ebanks Foundation, Thursday, January 21 at the Ministry’s Headquarters in New Kingston.
The Foundation was selected as a beneficiary of the OAS Organisation of Women of the Americas’ (OWA) Annual Food Festival of the Americas’ fundraising event, held in May 2015 in Washington D.C.

Jamaica’s Permanent Representative to the OAS, Ambassador Ralph Thomas and the OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro Lemes sign the Privileges and Immunities Agreement for OAS election observer mission for the 2016 General Elections in Jamaica. The Special Meeting of the Permanent Council held on 16th November 2016 adopted the Declaration “Supporting the National Dialogue in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.” The Meeting was chaired by Ambassador Audrey Marks, Permanent Representative of Jamaica to the OAS.
Special Meeting of the Permanent Council on the Colombian Peace Agreement – November 2016
Ambassador Audrey Marks met President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos Calderon, in the company of OAS Assistant Secretary General (ASG), Ambassador Nestor Mendez. Also present was Ambassador Andres Gonzalez, Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OAS. The meeting took place at the Office of the ASG prior to the OAS Special Meeting of the Permanent Council on 18th November 2016.
Ambassador Audrey Marks Chaired the OAS Special Meeting of the Permanent Council held on 18th November 2016 in which the Draft Declaration “Support for the Peace Process and the Termination of the Armed Conflict in Colombia” was adopted by consensus and in the presence of the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos Calderon.
